Virtual agent and organization modeling: Theory and applications

Agent system is an important technology to manage Virtual Information Space (VIS) and provide a variety of services to users on VIS. Especially, multiple agents can solve highly complex problems in manners of collaboration and cooperation based on knowledge, intelligence, and semantics. In particular, Virtual Organizations (VOs) are applied to several domains, e.g., e-learning, e-business, and e-government. The aim of this issue is to bring together researchers and practitioners in areas of virtual agents and organizations to share their visions, research achievements and solutions to real applications, to resolve the challenges and to establish worldwide cooperative research and development.
